Walk With the Wise

Proverbs 13:20 · World English Bible

You are becoming the average of the voices you keep close. Proverbs does not complicate this. Walk with the wise and you grow wise. Companion of fools, and fool here is not a dummy, it is a man who will not fear God, and you will share his damage.

This is not a call to snobbery. It is a call to honesty about the group chat, the after-work drinks, the men who make your compromises feel normal. You already know which friendships make it easier to sin. You have been calling that loyalty.

Wisdom is downstream of company. Change the walk and the man changes. Stay in the old rotation and you can count on the old harvest.

Today’s Challenge

Decline one invitation this week that always leaves you worse, and initiate time with a man whose life you actually want to imitate.

Pray

God, I have walked with men who dull me and called it friendship. Lead me to the wise, and make me the kind of companion who does not cause harm. Amen.
