Godly Truths
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Today’s Truth
The Way Out Will Not Feel Like Relief
1 Corinthians 10:13 · World English Bible
You come in from the late shift and leave the light off. Boots by the door. Shoulders still tight from the pallet jack. The phone is already warmer than your hands, and you tell yourself you earned ten minutes. The wanting shows up dressed as rest, the way it does when the room is quiet and nobody is coming through that door. You know the ending. The screen goes dark, and you are emptier than when you unlocked the place.
You have been calling this hour an exception, as if the pull proves you are past help. Paul will not give you that. He writes to a church that knew every cheap door in Corinth, and he treats the wanting as common, not as a private curse. God is faithful. He has set a limit on what this can do to you, and He has already opened a way through so you can stay standing. You keep treating the phone as the only door because it is fast. The other one is slower, and it does not leave you empty.
Taking that way will not feel like mercy at first. It will feel like setting the phone out of reach and sitting with a body that still wants, in a room that has nothing soft in it. That is the cost. The mercy is that you do not have to stop wanting before you move. The Father has not asked you to feel clean and then obey. He has asked you to take the exit while the pull is loud, and to trust that obedience is better food than the thing that leaves you staring at the ceiling.
Today’s Challenge
Before you sleep, put the phone where you cannot reach it from the bed and leave it there until morning.
Pray
Father, I know the lie I tell when the room goes quiet and the phone is in my hand. Do not let me call emptiness relief. Give me the nerve to take the way out while I still want the wrong door. Amen.
