Godly Truths

All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby.

Today’s Truth

Stay Until It Trains You

Hebrews 12:11 · World English Bible

You sat in the truck with the engine off and your bad shoulder against the door. The ladder is still in the bed from yesterday. The doctor said six weeks if you do the work, longer if you protect yourself from it. You wanted a pill and a date when this ends. A job text came in and you let the screen go dark, because you cannot climb. Pain this plain makes you hunt for an exit. You are not looking for a lesson. You are looking for the week to be over.

You want the pain to mean nothing, a glitch in the body, a week to survive and forget. Hebrews will not give you that exit. The Father disciplines the man He loves, and the point is training, not comfort. You have been treating the shoulder like an interruption you can outwait. If you only wait for it to pass, you can come out the other side unchanged, still proud, still quick to quit whatever costs you. Staying is the difference between a man who was hurt and a man who was formed.

What grows afterward is a quiet rightness you cannot fake on a good day. It costs you the story where you bounce back by Friday and nobody sees you weak. You do not get the peace and skip the sore weeks. The mercy is that the Lord is not timing you from the sidewalk. He is in the training with you, and He does not waste a man who stays.

Today’s Challenge

Tonight, complete the rehab you have been skipping and tell the Father, out loud, the place that still hurts.

Pray

Father, I want this over more than I want to be trained. Hold me through the sore weeks, and grow in me what I cannot force on a good day. Amen.
