Godly Truths

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Today’s Truth

It Is Not Good to Walk Alone

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 · World English Bible

Independence looks impressive until you fall. And you will fall, not eventually, in theory, but on a Tuesday, in a way that does not post well. The Preacher is blunt: woe to him who is alone when he falls. The danger is not that you are weak. The danger is that no one is close enough to get a hand under you.

Two are better than one is not a slogan for marriage seminars only. It is a warning about the solo life you have been defending as focus. You can build a career in isolation. You cannot survive a real winter there.

Someone would show up if they knew. They do not know because you have been curating a version of yourself that never needs a lift. Let one person close enough to see you trip.

Today’s Challenge

Invite one man into something ordinary this week, a meal, a workout, a walk, and tell him one true thing you have not said out loud.

Pray

God, I have called my isolation strength. Give me the humility to walk with someone, and the loyalty to lift a brother when he falls. Amen.
